School Closed – 9 thousand schools in the state are going up, surplus transfer of teachers will begin.

The state of education in certain areas of the country has been a concern for the government for some time now. On one hand, there are schools that are struggling due to the lack of teachers, and on the other hand, there are schools with an excess of teachers but no students. The government has identified 827 such schools across the primary, upper primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels, and has decided to take action by closing down the schools with no students and transferring surplus teachers to schools that have a high number of students.

This move has been met with some criticism from opposition teachers' organizations, who claim that the government is trying to privatize the education system. There have also been complaints about the Utsashree Portal, which was launched during the tenure of former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee, and which was used to transfer teachers in the state. Some teachers have reportedly been transferred from villages to city schools in exchange for large sums of money. As a result, transfers have been closed in the Utsashree portal.

The state government has expressed concern about the trend of teachers leaving rural schools for city schools, leaving the rural schools with a shortage of teachers. This has contributed to the problem of schools with excess teachers but no students. The government is now taking steps to address this issue and ensure that the student-teacher ratio is more balanced.

English medium schools have been booming across the state, with many such schools opening up even in rural areas. This has put pressure on government schools and Bengali medium schools. Some anti-ruling teachers' organizations blame the government for the situation in government schools, citing a lack of monitoring and goodwill. However, the government is now taking strict action to improve the state of education in the state, including implementing a new transfer policy for teachers.

In conclusion, the government's decision to close down schools with no students and transfer surplus teachers to schools with a high number of students is a step towards addressing the imbalance in the education system. While there have been some criticisms and concerns, the government is taking steps to ensure that the education system is more equitable and effective.
