In just a few days, the highly anticipated Higher Secondary Examination (HS Examination 2023) will commence, with thousands of candidates eagerly preparing for their first board examination. Due to the cancellation of the previous year's secondary examinations due to the pandemic, this year's examination marks the first board examination for many of these students. As such, the Higher Secondary Education Council has implemented strict guidelines to ensure the safety and fairness of the examination process.
To start with, the HS Examination will take place from March 14 to March 27, and the Council has taken rigorous measures to prevent candidates from bringing mobile phones into the examination centers. According to the President of the Higher Secondary Education Council (WBCHSE), Chiranjeev Bhattacharya, any candidate caught with a mobile phone will have their examination cancelled, and their registration will also be cancelled. In addition to this, the Council has issued several other guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the HS Exam.
For each examination during the higher secondary examination, two invigilators will be appointed. The question paper will only be distributed after it has been confirmed that the candidates do not have any mobile phones with them. No teacher or teaching staff will be allowed to leave the examination hall once the examination has commenced. Furthermore, the government will take strict action against any complaints of negligence in the matter of surveillance, and serious complaints against examiners will also be dealt with severely.
Venue supervisors will be issued with an HS Exam Venue Supervisor ID Card, and they will be responsible for ensuring the complete security of the exam center. During the examination, the teacher of the subject being examined cannot be on duty in the examination hall. Strict vigilance will be kept to prevent any students from adopting dishonest means, and no mobile phones will be allowed with any HS Exam candidate. Additionally, no one will be allowed to leave the examination hall or go to the toilet for one hour after the commencement of the examination.
With this being the first board exam for many of these students, the Council has arranged various sessions to reduce their stress levels. The President of the Parliament has given a strict warning to the students regarding bringing mobile phones into the examination center, and has made it clear that any candidate caught with a mobile phone will face severe consequences. Finally, the Madhyamik Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE Mahyamik Exam 2023) has also implemented tight security measures to ensure the smooth conduct of this year's Madhyamik Exam.
