Fraud message – This message is coming to everyone's mobile. Account is empty after clicking

The Reserve Bank of India has recently issued guidelines that highlight the importance of keeping bank account KYC information up-to-date. Failure to do so can lead to numerous problems for common people in India. While the digitalization of banking has brought many benefits, it has also resulted in an increase in cybercrime. Unscrupulous individuals have taken advantage of this trend to defraud unsuspecting victims of their money, often using the guise of bank account or PAN card updates.

These scammers often send fraudulent messages to people's phones, claiming that their bank accounts have been suspended and that they need to update their KYC or PAN card information by clicking on a link. Unfortunately, many people have fallen prey to this scam, losing all the money in their accounts in the process. HDFC Bank was one of the first to uncover this fraud, after a customer shared a screenshot of the message on Twitter.

To prevent such fraud, HDFC Bank and other banks have warned customers not to share their personal information with unknown numbers. They have also instructed customers to check the authenticity of any messages claiming to be from the bank before providing any information. Customers are advised to use strong passwords for UPI and mobile banking and to enable two-factor authentication for added security.

In addition, customers are cautioned to be wary of any messages or calls from unknown numbers, and to always double-check the URLs provided in any messages. PAN card, Aadhaar card, bank account numbers, and OTPs should never be shared with unknown parties. By following these guidelines, customers can protect themselves from falling victim to cybercrime and safeguard their hard-earned money.
